Welcome to the Museum of the South Asian Diaspora! This site has been created by John Zavos, Senior lecturer in South Asian Studies at the University of Manchester, in collaboration with students on his level 3 undergraduate unit, Religion, Migration and Diaspora: Global South Asians. The purpose of this site is to showcase the work of Manchester students on the theme of South Asian Diasporas, and provide a space for the development, over time, of a creative, informative and critically informed resource on this theme. You will find pages on different aspects of the South Asian Diaspora, with contributions from both individual and groups of students who have produced virtual exhibits for inclusion in the museum as part of their course work. We welcome comments from people on these contributions. This site was first established in the Autumn of 2012. Over time our aim is to develop it into an increasingly comprehensive resource of real value to a range of people beyond the University of Manchester.
